Possible to use ESP8285 ESP-M3 module standalone for encoders?
Would it be possible to use a ESP8285 module as a sort of digital setting circle, stand alone? It has sufficient I/O to support the encoders. I'm not sure where to tell the firmware not to attempt com

Oh sorry I didn't mean it that way :o OnStep has (or is going to) breathe new life into my EM10, for a much lower cost than anything else out there. The 19.99 is going back to you as a donation :)

Getting confused
I think Instein (http://instein.eu/onstepeq5.htm) does a ready made kit, but as the hardware is his own design, the support will have to come from him.

2mm Delrin faceplate, motor mounting plate in 4mm aluminium and bored gears just came back from the machinist's, wish me luck! It seems like a really tight fit in the motor bay.

Hi Satnam, As is shown in the bottom screenshot, my longitude is 103 degrees East. This means that the value shown in Gotomote should be -103. However it is displayed as positive instead, meaning 103

Ah OK! Didn't see that. I will try using the 1.42 ASCOM driver later (although ultimately I will probably still use the USB connection). Thanks!

Encoders on EM-10 for PEC and rate correction
I was considering using the CUI AMT102 encoders on the worm shaft (where the original Takahashi EM11 encoders go)... has anyone gave it a go? These seem pretty convenient as they also have an "Index"
