Remote control collimation - ideas please
Are you concerned about having active (read: giving off heat) electronics in the scope tube? I am not sure it is on much concern but I would guess heat (electronics, driving the motors) would generate

4.21d....Strange Behavior
Khalid, I don't have these drivers on hand but I am deep enough in to look into ordering some. I would also want to look into what changes are needed on the circuit board. Stay tuned....

Khalid, Thanks for your help. I just went through the process of testing a number of 4.x versions with my system...in sort of a binary search, backing my way from 4.16 which worked to the present vers

Question on Spiral Search - Android Message
Ohhhhhhh....no I did not reflash the WiFi board. Didn't think of it as possibly connected (no pun) to the problem....will do this morning. Totally expect it is the root cause of the problem. Thanks!

Question on Spiral Search - Android Message
Finally got hold of an Android tablet to control Onstep...very nice! I noticed the "spiral search" selection, but when I try to invoke it, I get a "requires Onstep v4.7 or later". I had just installed

How to build a GoTo Dobsonian that can be pushed by hand?
A possible approach is friction clutches set with enough friction to slip during normal motor driven operation but less than what will cause damage to the gears/drivetrain. Clutch friction material ca

Failed to init device yet again
I had an interesting thought this morning regarding the need for the 10K series resistor. Note: strictly conjecture. As I read the STM32 literature, they mention that the GPIO pins can be set with int

I would appreciate it if you could measure the voltage (on a powered, problem board) across either your 10K resistor or the 100K when powered and the programming jumper set to the nominal 3.3V positio

My guess is that the connection via pin 9 and 10, though they are "signal" lines do have voltage on them and, are actually driving the STM32....to a degree. Enough to actually make a small voltage app

I described use of a DVM (voltmeter) with an input resistance of 1 megohm. Virtually all DVMs should meet or exceed that value (I think 10 megohms is fairly typical)....so I was not intending to speci

All of this begs the question why the resistors in the first place and not a direct short? Two possibilities come to mind. One is that, when the jumper is in place it is possible for something else to

SQUARE or PULSE different stall speeds
Could someone explain what is intended by offering the two settings? Compatibility Issues with different stepper drivers? Are different drivers sensitive to pulse step input pulse width variations?
