JoAnn Thanks - following the great job you have done on yours. I've just used a plastic jiffy box from my local electronics store. Cut out the holes and filed down (no close up pics shown as its a bit

A test run on an EQ5
Gave my mount a test run last night. I'm only little NEMA14 steppers 200 step/rev with 2.5:1 gear ratio (144:1 worm) on an EQ5. Built the miniPCB with TMC2130 running in stealthmode 32 microsteps, so

Dew heater and LCD display on Ramps 1.4
Serge I use an Arduino nano - DHT22 to measure ambient temp/humidity, DS18B20 to measure mirror/lens temp, mosfets drive the heater. Can run by feedback control, or manually. Use a little 129x64 OLED

Choosing Stepper Motors
Thanks Raymond. I found a local ebay seller that has some of these OSMTEC steppers. So you running a 2A stepper at 1A (think) but at 40V. And they have that stepper plus a few others. I'm still wonder

Choosing Stepper Motors
I'm a bit restricted is Australia as to stepper motors I can choose. For example, while there is a distributor of oriental motors here, they seem to carry very few of the motors on the oriental websit

2k bussed resistor
Matthew I'm in Aus. I got the bussed resistor from Mouser Hong Kong. They are reasonably priced and very fast. Shipping is a bit so I bought a bunch of stuff. They have a huge range of things. Hardest

Choosing Stepper Motors
There's probably a thread or two already dedicated to this, either here or back in the yahoo forum. If so, just redirect me there! I'm trying to get my head around selecting the optimal stepper motor.

Problem with TMC2130s
Howard Thanks for checking all of that. So, amazingly I haven't completely lost the plot and it appears I've done it correctly. Must be something weird about my ebay tmc2130s. I'll try and source some

Problem with TMC2130s
I have Polulo 1209s. 200 step, 2.7V 1A. Have tried with Vref = 0.7 and 1V. Using a 12V supply.

Pedro I think mine is an EQ5pro mount - as it came with NEMA14 steppers. I bought it second hand and the controller was missing. It has cleaned up nicely, have relubed gears etc and all looked in good

Problem with TMC2130s
If I change to 256 (and don't change StepsPerDegreeAxis etc) both tracking and slewing are much slower. And change to 8, both are much faster.

Pedro I'm also motorising an EQ5. Still waiting for some gt2 pulleys. I will either end up with 2.5:1 on these, or 3.75:1 if I can fit in the larger pulleys. Like you boxed controller! Chris

Problem with TMC2130s
Maybe this problem is because I bought cheapo ebay TM2130s, but I can't source the proper ones in Australia. I've got the miniPCB built, running the current alpha version via bluetooth, with polulo120
