PS I re-used the original CGE Pro RA and Dec cables. I connected the stepper motor wires from the controller board to a cable harness using a screw down terminal blocks and likewise at the motor side.

Problems with Sky Planetarium and SHC Alignment
Thanks! Alignment in SP and SHC now works. I have read the “Using OnStep” wiki but didn’t appreciate that alignment has to be done immediately after power up as you describe above.

Problems Moving CGE Pro to Home
Turns out the problem was the Dec motor was going in the wrong direction. I turned on AXIS2_DRIVER_REVERSE in config.h and home sense now works and the mount now points to the correct coordinates. The
