SHC Enclosure - Printed, no PCB needed :)
I finally got mine working, one gotcha is that the display sometimes is shipped configured for SPI, you have to change it to I2C mode by changing R9 to the "I2C" side, and jumpering the blank pads und

Ah, the analog functionality was only available in Onstep-Master. I've found it now, thanks!

I must be missing something, I cannot find any references to an analog joystick in the SHC code. Would you mind sharing your configuration here?

How did you wire the joystick to the ESP32? I understand the joystick outputs an analog signal.

MiniPCB v2: Alternatives to some components?
For the SJ-3566AN, I used a Switchcraft 35RAPC4BHN2. These look like they'll fit too. The switch part isn't used.: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001230361023.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.654d928d

Wow, this is exactly what I have been looking for :) I'll suggest to add this into the Wiki.

How to ... Align (Webinterface)
Just a quick question; if I use SkySafari to select the star, do I center and align it using the buttons in SkySafari or the Onstep app?

GOTO speed causing noise n slow slew rate
Hmm interesting, I can’t get them any faster as they’ll stall. Maybe I should increase the current a bit :)

GOTO speed causing noise n slow slew rate
I run a pretty high reduction ratio (2400:1) so i use 24V to be able to run the motors as fast as they can go. My motors are 1.6A units but I’m only using them at 900mA for slewing. Everything stays n

OnStep crashes / Wifi Module looses serial connection
With 32 Microsteps you should get much more steps per degree than that, use the calculator to determine it.

12V probably isn’t really enough for the motors and they might be stalling. Try 24V and see if it improves. I actually have a step up converter (a nice Pololu one) to get decent slew speeds.

Slewing/GoTo works, poor tracking and guiding
It actually sounds like the guide rate is incorrect, is it set to the same both in Onstep (check the App) and PHD? It’s not easy to lose the star during calibration..

Also, it’s possible that your pole alignment is not “good” enough. Use the Drift Align in PHD2 to get it spot on, or the Refine Polar Align in Onstep (it really works!).

Many users here have had success with Onstep. What mount did you put it on? Did you make sure the mount is mechanically sound? If the mount was bad to begin with, Onstep won’t make it any better.

Depending on how you got 19V to the board, it might have gotten to pins that tolerate only 5V at best.

Short story, probably better to replace everything than try to figure out why something’s not working.

In any case I think you can set the overhead limit to 90 to disable it. Give it a try and let us know :)
