Cannot connect WIFI SHC

hl2daa@...

I am very happy to know this group.
I made Onstep MiniPCB2 + Teensy 3.2 + Wemos D1 mini and it is working very well.
The help of this forum has been a great help.
Additionally, it was produced using SHC ESP32S module.
The ST4 control connection is working well, but the Wi-Fi connection is not possible.

The present situation---
The Onstep controller works well with the Android web program. I think there is nothing wrong with the Onstep controller's WiFi. Only the SHC WIFI connection does not work.

Condition
ESP32s 2.0.4 Version
Add on Lib   8Ug2  2.33.15
                    Ephemeris 1.0.1
                    Onewire  2.3.7

Flashing   Board  NODE32s

I checked the connection for both Wemos Module and ESP32 modules with AP mode and server mode example program.
I checked that they were connected well and that there was no problem.
I can't check the ESP32 with a serial monitor, so I can check where the problem is, but I have someone to help me with this situation. We have someone who has experienced it or someone who can help us.

Thank you

Make sure the MiniPCB2 network settings match the wSHC network settings.  The wSHC is trying to connect to the MiniPCB2 Wifi network.

The config.h and extended.config.h files will show the network settings for each device.

Also the board manager needs to be using ESP32 DEV

See "installing the software platform"

I think the ESP32 2.0.6 board manager is recommended for the wSHC. That's what works for me.

Chad, thank you for your concern.
What I showed you is two SHCs.
One is SHC using ST4 and the other is WIFI SHC.
What do you mean wSHC?, wired or WIFI?

Thanks

hl2daa@...

I tried it with ESP2DEV, but there was no difference.
I also tried NODE32S because "Drew" of this forum recommended it.
I will test it again with ESP32DEV 2.0.6.

wSHC is the abbreviation we are starting to use with the Wireless Smart Hand Controller.

I guess we did not think of Wired... :)

I think the information missing is where the problem may be. Are you using the "Main" branch code for both the SWS and wSHC? What are your config.h and Extended.config.h settings for the wSHC? Are you trying to connect by AP or Station mode?

Dave Schwartz

I always use 'ESP32 Dev Module' type with all my SHC's, wired of wireless.

That is OK. I use the Node32s because it shows only the settings we normally change. Less confusing.

Both work fine with all of the ESP32 modules we use.

Hi Drew

I'd like connect SHC with WIFI.

My config.h is exactry same basic setting.

Thank you

Your wSHC settings look OK. How is your SWS configured? Is it in AP mode? Is the SWS flashed with the "Main" branch code? Are the Extended.config.h (in the SWS AP) settings default?

Are you powering the wSHC with a USB cable only. That is, have you disconnected the ST4 cable for these tests?

Dave Schwartz

Some of the types don't show the selection for CPU speed. With the wireless SHC it may be important to you to get the most battery life you can so selecting the 80MHz option (the lowest at which WiFi will still run) can help with that.

Dave, I think that is off topic. He is just trying to get it working.

hl2daa@...

Yes, it's AP mode.
This is also confirmed in the WIFI analyser (android app) and there is no problem connecting in the Android Onestep program.
Extended.config.h is default setting.

hl2daa@...

I tested it again in the way you recommended, but I got the same result.
I'm very confused because i expect that is not difficult .

hl2daa@...

I setted 80Mhz WIFI CPU clock speed.

hl2daa@...

Drew exactly understanding my situation.

I attached Onstep WIFI condition.

Don't, keep the 240mhz default for testing.

Try to connect your Android WiFi at 192.168.0.1:9996

If my memory is correct this the port that the wSHC uses.

Unfortunately I cannot translate a picture. The 192.168.0.4 IP puzzles me. What is it?
