The Mini Controllers

There are just two iterations of the Mini design:

  • The first generation of the design (MiniPCB version 1) aimed for fitting in the motor housing of my Tak EM10 mount, but it makes a nice option as a basic controller for embedding in other mount bodies as well.
    • Control of two stepper motors using StepStick drivers.  This provides two motors for the mount.
    • External connectors for power in, ST4, and USB.
    • Internal connectors for limit sense, PEC, WiFi (ESP01 ESP8266) or Bluetooth (HC05.)
    • Designed to allow using horizontal connectors for mounting behind a mount body cover plate.
    • Uses the Teensy3.2 (moderately fast) or Teensy4.0 (very fast) processor.
    • Works with most StepStick drivers, TMC2130, TMC5160, and others.
  • The second generation of the design (MiniPCB version 2) is a stand alone controller.
    • Control of two stepper motors using StepStick drivers.  This provides two motors for the mount.
    • External connectors for power in, limit sense, illuminated reticle, PEC, ST4, and USB.
    • Internal connector for an WeMos D1 Mini (WiFi.)
    • Designed for a readily available aluminum project box.
    • Uses the Teensy3.2 (moderately fast) or Teensy4.0 (very fast) processor.
    • Works with most StepStick drivers, TMC2130, TMC5160, and others.
